Biography
Beth Macy is an American journalist, non-fiction author and screenwriter. She worked as a reporter for The Roanoke Times in Virginia from 1989 until 2014, after studying journalism at Bowling Green State University and earning an MFA from Hollins University.
Macy is the author of several books, including Factory Man (2014) and Truevine (2016). Her 2018 book Dopesick: Dealers, Doctors, and the Drug Company that Addicted America was adapted into an eight-part Hulu miniseries in 2021, for which she served as writer and executive producer.
