Biography
Betty Linley was a British actress. Born in Malmesbury, Wiltshire, England, she appeared in numerous Broadway productions from the 1920s onwards, including The Dybbuk (1926), The Taming of the Shrew (1927), Hay Fever (1931) and The Breadwinner (1931).
She originated the role of Mrs. Montgomery in the original Broadway production of The Heiress (1947) and reprised it in William Wyler's 1949 film adaptation. Linley also appeared in an episode of the television series The Ford Theatre Hour (1950). She died in New York City in 1951.
