Biography
Bianca Marroquín is a Mexican actress, singer and dancer. Born in Monterrey, Nuevo León, she grew up between Matamoros, Mexico and Brownsville, Texas, where she studied dance. She later studied communications in Monterrey before moving to Mexico City to begin her professional theatre career.
Marroquín became the first Mexican actress to star on Broadway, playing Roxie Hart in Chicago in 2002. She has performed in the musical for over twenty years and is one of the few actresses to have played both Roxie Hart and Velma Kelly. Other stage credits include In the Heights, The Pajama Game and productions of Rent and The Phantom of the Opera in Mexico.
On screen she has appeared as Chita Rivera in the FX series Fosse/Verdon (2019), as Older Sara in Acapulco (2021) and as Tere Murguía in Half Brothers (2020).
