Biography
Bibi Osterwald, also credited as Margaret Virginia Osterwald, was an American actress whose career spanned stage, television and film from the 1940s until 2002.
She made her Broadway debut in the revue Sing Out, Sweet Land (1944) and appeared in productions including the original Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, Bus Stop, Look Homeward, Angel and The Golden Apple, for which she received an Outer Critics Circle Award. She served as understudy for the title role in Hello, Dolly! and performed it more than 100 times. Her film roles included The World of Henry Orient (1964) and As Good as It Gets (1997), in which she played the Neighbor Woman; she also provided voices for animated series such as Rugrats and Cow and Chicken.
Osterwald died in Burbank, California, on 2 January 2002. She was married to Justin Arndt.
