Biography
Bill Butler was an English film editor. Born in London in 1933, he began his career in sound editing before moving into picture editing.
He edited Stanley Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange (1971), for which he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Film Editing. He collaborated repeatedly with director Melvin Frank on films including Buona Sera, Mrs. Campbell (1968), A Touch of Class (1973), The Duchess and the Dirtwater Fox (1976) and Lost and Found (1979). Other credits include Up the Creek (1984), Pray for Death (1985), Cutting Class (1989) and Of Love and Shadows (1994).
Butler died on 4 June 2017 in Sherman Oaks, California.
