Biography

Bill Dial (1943–2008) was an American television writer, producer and occasional actor. He wrote five episodes of the first season of WKRP in Cincinnati (1978–79), including 'Turkeys Away', and later served as a producer on the series. He also appeared in two episodes as the station engineer Bucky Dornster.

Dial wrote for Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1994), contributing the story and teleplay for 'The Alternate' and writing 'Tribunal'. He wrote an episode of Star Trek: Voyager (1995) and co-created the series Legend (1995) with Michael Piller. His other credits include writing and producing work on Sliders (1995–2000) and The New WKRP in Cincinnati (1991–93).
