Biography
Bill Hoag is an American actor. He attended Saint Francis Preparatory High School in Brooklyn and Saint Francis College, where he took acting classes and performed with the college theatre group The Troupers. After graduation he appeared in the starring role of the Off-Broadway comedy Dungalore. His career in theatre, television and film has spanned more than forty years.
He is known for playing John Elder in the 2018 film First Reformed, directed by Paul Schrader, and Bill Chapman in the Netflix series Orange Is the New Black (2013–2019). Other credits include roles in Godzilla (1998), In & Out (1997, as William P. Hoag), The Devil's Own (1997) and multiple episodes of the Law & Order franchise.
