Biography
Bill Isler is a producer and former president and chief executive of Fred Rogers Productions (formerly Family Communications, Inc.). He joined the company in 1984 and worked alongside Fred Rogers for over thirty years, later succeeding him in the leadership role until his retirement around 2016.
Prior to that, Isler worked as an elementary school teacher and administrator, and held positions in the Pennsylvania Department of Education including Commissioner of Basic Education and Senior Program Advisor for Early Childhood Education. He has also served as executive director of the Fred Rogers Center for Early Learning and Children’s Media at Saint Vincent College.
His production credits include co-executive producer on the 2004 television film Fred Rogers: America's Favorite Neighbor. He appeared as himself in the 2018 documentary Won't You Be My Neighbor? and has contributed as a curriculum consultant to Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood. Isler has received awards including the PBS “Be more” Award.
