Biography
Bill Shapter is a British film editor and producer. He began his career as a cameraman in 1965 and joined the BBC cutting rooms at Ealing Studios in 1968, working in post-production there until 1978. He later worked freelance as an editor on feature films and television before returning to production roles.
Shapter's producing credits include The Turnaround (1995), Beautiful Thing (1996, co-produced with Tony Garnett), Ultraviolet (1998) and associate producer on Imagine Me & You (2005). His editing work includes Prostitute (1980), Memoirs of a Survivor (1981), Deep in the Heart (1983) and Hôtel du Paradis (1986).
