Biography
Birger Larsen (22 December 1961 – 26 October 2016) was a Danish film director and screenwriter. He began his career as a child actor in 1978 before working as an assistant director on several films and moving into directing.
His feature debut Dance of the Polar Bears (1990) won the Bodil Award for Best Danish Film. He received an Academy Award nomination for Best Live Action Short Film for Sweethearts (1996). Larsen directed episodes of the television series The Killing (2007) and Those Who Kill (2011), as well as later features including SuperBrother (2009) and The Reunion 3 (2016).
