Biography
Birgitte Hald is a Danish film producer and managing director of Nimbus Film. She graduated as a producer from the National Film School of Denmark in 1993, having previously studied film at the University of Copenhagen. In the same year she co-founded Nimbus Film with Bo Ehrhardt.
Hald produced Thomas Vinterberg’s The Celebration (1998), the first film of the Dogme 95 movement, which won the Jury Prize at Cannes. She has produced or executive produced numerous other Danish features, including Mifune (1999), It’s All About Love (2003), Dear Wendy (2005), Flame & Citron (2008) and the Antboy trilogy (2013–2016). She has also served as executive producer on the television series The Bridge (2011–2018).
Hald received the Natsværmerprisen in 1996 and the Nordisk Film Prize in 1998.
