Biography
Birgitte Hjort Sørensen is a Danish actress. She was born on 16 January 1982 in Hillerød and graduated from the Danish National School of Performing Arts in 2007. She began her career in theatre, appearing in productions including a Copenhagen staging of the musical Chicago and its West End transfer.
Her breakthrough came with the role of journalist Katrine Fønsmark in the Danish political drama series Borgen (2010–2013, 2022). She has since appeared in international productions including Game of Thrones (2015), Vinyl (2016), Pitch Perfect 2 (2015) and Automata (2014). She has received nominations for three Robert Awards and one Bodil Award.
