Biography
Björn Stein is a Swedish director, writer and editor. Born on 17 November 1970 in Annedal, Gothenburg, he trained in communication and media, film studies and at Stockholms Filmskola. He has frequently collaborated with Måns Mårlind as the directing and writing team Mårlind & Stein since 2002.
Stein is known for directing the feature films Storm (2005), Underworld: Awakening (2012) and Shed No Tears (2013), and the series Midnight Sun (2016) and The Defeated (2020). With Mårlind and Hans Rosenfeldt he co-created the crime series The Bridge (2011), which received a BAFTA nomination. He also edits many of his own projects.
