Biography
Blackhorse Lowe is a filmmaker, writer and director from the Navajo Nation. He has directed and written episodes of the FX series Reservation Dogs (2021–2023) and has directed episodes of series including Outer Range (2022), Big Sky (2020) and Joe Pickett (2021).
His feature directorial debut 5th World (2005) premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. Other films include the short Shimásáni (2009), which screened at Tribeca and Sundance, and the feature Fukry (2019), which won Best Film at the Montreal First Peoples Festival. He is a recipient of Sundance Institute fellowships and a 2024 United States Artists Fellowship.
