Biography

Blasco Giurato (7 June 1941 – 26 December 2022) was an Italian cinematographer. Born in Rome, he worked as a camera operator on several early films before becoming a director of photography.

He is known for his collaborations with director Giuseppe Tornatore, including Cinema Paradiso (1988), for which he received a BAFTA nomination for Best Cinematography, Everybody's Fine (1990) and A Pure Formality (1994). He won the Globo d'oro for Best Cinematography for the latter in 1993 and was nominated for the David di Donatello for The Game Bag (1997).

Giurato was the brother of journalist Luca Giurato and singer-songwriter Flavio Giurato.
