Bo Bragason

In Sterling Point (2026), Oona is outgoing and flirtatious, but Bo Bragason gives us more to follow than her romantic prospects. She fits into the island’s company alongside Whiteduck-Lavoie and Quinn-Toye, all three making the rivalries matter by first making the people interesting. Megan Park lets a girl fall for a girl without an explanatory speech. We felt relieved by that plainness: the actors can get on with playing attraction rather than delivering a statement about it.

The substantial parts gathered in 2024, following a television debut as Rachel Winshaw in Three Girls (2017) and an early film role in Censor (2021). She played Roxy Trotter in Sally Wainwright’s Renegade Nell (2024), Amy Knightly in The Jetty (2024) and Clara Radley in The Radleys (2024). Fantasy adventure, crime drama and vampire coming-of-age comedy make for a useful spread of work, giving her opportunities beyond another version of the same character.

Sterling Point is the work that makes us want to follow her, though its success belongs to an ensemble. Park gives the younger cast fuller people to play than the adults, and the performances carry a series whose mystery is its least interesting feature. Bragason benefits from that attention, and we would not pretend she is doing all the work herself. Her contribution is to make Oona feel at home among the islanders, so that a rivalry does not wipe out everything else we have noticed about her.

There is reason to be interested in the less agreeable characters, too. The flawed Amy in The Jetty offers a useful direction to pursue, without requiring us to predict a whole career from one part. We would not want Oona’s appeal to become an obligation to be charming in every role. Start with Sterling Point for Bragason and her fellow islanders; do not expect the mystery to earn equal attention.
