Biography
Bo Harwood (1946–2022) was an American composer, sound mixer and music supervisor. Born in Los Angeles, he began his career as lead singer and guitarist in a southern California rock band in the mid-1960s and scored his first feature, The Bach Train, in 1969.
He collaborated extensively with director John Cassavetes, composing music and handling sound on A Woman Under the Influence (1974), The Killing of a Chinese Bookie (1976), Opening Night (1977) and Love Streams (1984). His other film credits include composing for Happy Birthday to Me (1981) and sound mixing on Terror Train (1980). In television he worked as a sound mixer on series including Pee-wee's Playhouse, My So-Called Life, Felicity, Six Feet Under and Entourage.
Harwood received a Genie Award for Best Original Song in 1984 for Ups and Downs and won an Emmy for sound mixing. He died on 1 September 2022.
