Biography
Bob Amsberry was an American actor and writer. Born in Boring, Oregon, he worked as a radio disc jockey for KEX in Portland before moving to Hollywood in 1955 to write songs for The Mickey Mouse Club.
He became one of the original adult cast members on the series, appearing in various character roles alongside Jimmie Dodd and Roy Williams until his contract ended in September 1957. Amsberry also voiced characters in Disney productions including Joe Muffaw in the short Paul Bunyan (1958) and one of Maleficent’s goons in Sleeping Beauty (1959). He died in a car accident in Portland on 21 November 1957.
