Biography
Bob Kelljan, born Robert Kelljchian on 23 June 1930 in Union City, New Jersey, was an American film and television director. He began his career as an actor in the 1960s with guest roles in series including The Twilight Zone and The Outer Limits, and small parts in films such as Psych-Out (1968).
Kelljan moved into directing with the 1969 drama Flesh of My Flesh, which he co-wrote. He achieved commercial success with the horror films Count Yorga, Vampire (1970), which he also wrote, and its sequel The Return of Count Yorga (1971). Subsequent features include Scream Blacula Scream (1973), Act of Vengeance (1974) and Black Oak Conspiracy (1977). He later directed episodes of numerous television series, among them Wonder Woman (1975), Charlie's Angels (1976), The Dukes of Hazzard (1979) and Hill Street Blues (1981).
Kelljan died of cancer on 25 November 1982 in Los Angeles, aged 52.
