Biography
Bob LaHendro is an American television director. Born in Chicago, Illinois, on 9 February 1935, he began his career in 1966 as a stage manager on the variety series The Red Skelton Show. He later worked as an associate director on The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour and joined the production of All in the Family in that role from 1971.
LaHendro made his directorial debut on Sanford and Son in 1972. He went on to direct numerous episodes of All in the Family (1972–1974), Welcome Back, Kotter (1975–1977), Good Times, That's My Mama, Hot l Baltimore, Archie Bunker's Place, Flo and Fish. He also directed episodes of the soap opera Santa Barbara.
In 1973 LaHendro received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series for his work on All in the Family, shared with John Rich. He had earlier been part of the Directors Guild of America award-winning team for the series as an associate director.
