Biography
Bob Nelson is an American screenwriter and film director. He wrote the screenplay for Nebraska (2013), directed by Alexander Payne, for which he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay and won the Independent Spirit Award for Best First Screenplay.
Nelson began his career as a writer and cast member on the Seattle sketch comedy show Almost Live!. He later wrote for television series including The Eyes of Nye and The Magic Hour. He wrote and directed the 2016 film The Confirmation.
He was raised in Kent, Washington, and lives on Whidbey Island in Washington.
