Biography
Bolaji Badejo was a Nigerian visual artist and actor. He is known for his sole acting role as the Alien in Ridley Scott's 1979 science fiction horror film Alien.
Born in Lagos on 23 August 1953, Badejo studied graphic design in London after periods in Ethiopia and the United States. He was discovered in a Soho pub by a member of the film's casting team, who noted his height of 208 cm (6 ft 10 in) as suitable for the part.
After filming, Badejo returned to Nigeria in 1980 and opened an art gallery in Lagos in 1983. He died there on 22 December 1992 from complications of sickle cell disease.
