Biography
Bonnie Cashin (1908–2000) was an American costume designer and fashion designer. She began her career designing dance costumes in Los Angeles and for the Roxy Theatre in New York before working as a ready-to-wear designer for Adler & Adler from 1937. In 1942 she joined Twentieth Century Fox, where she designed costumes for more than sixty films until 1949.
Her film credits include Laura (1944), The Keys of the Kingdom (1944), Fallen Angel (1945), A Tree Grows in Brooklyn (1945), Anna and the King of Siam (1946), Cluny Brown (1946), Nightmare Alley (1947), Unfaithfully Yours (1948), Cry of the City (1948) and I Was a Male War Bride (1949). After leaving Fox she established her own ready-to-wear label and became known for innovative sportswear, layering and the use of leather and industrial hardware; she also designed accessories for Coach from 1962.
