Biography
Börje Ahlstedt is a Swedish actor born in Stockholm in 1939. He trained at the Royal Dramatic Theatre school from 1962 to 1965 and has been a member of its ensemble since graduating.
Ahlstedt has worked extensively with Ingmar Bergman, appearing as Carl Ekdahl in Fanny and Alexander (1982), Carl Åkerblom in The Best Intentions (1992) and Sunday's Children (1992), and Henrik in Saraband (2003). He is also known for playing Mattis in Ronia: The Robber's Daughter (1984) and for early roles in I Am Curious (Yellow) (1967) and I Am Curious (Blue) (1968).
He has appeared in films by directors including Bo Widerberg and Kay Pollak. Ahlstedt won the Guldbagge Award for Best Actor for his performance in The Rabbit Man (1990).
