Biography
Bouli Lanners (born Philippe Lanners, 20 May 1965) is a Belgian actor, film director and writer. He was born in Moresnet-Chapelle, near Liège.
Lanners trained briefly at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Liège and worked in painting and various jobs before entering cinema in the early 1990s. He has appeared in supporting roles in films including A Very Long Engagement (2004), Asterix at the Olympic Games (2008), Nothing to Declare (2010), Rust and Bone (2012) as Martial, 9 Month Stretch (2013) and The Night of the 12th (2022).
As a director, his film The Giants (2011) was nominated for twelve Magritte Awards and won five, including Best Film and Best Director. He has also directed Eldorado (2008) and The First, the Last (2016).
