Biography
Boyd Stockman (born Ira D. Boyd Stockman) was an American actor and stuntman. He appeared in numerous Western films and television series from the mid-1940s to the mid-1970s, often in supporting roles or as a stunt performer, and was frequently cast as a stagecoach driver or henchman owing to his expertise as a horseman.
His credited film roles include Spud Oxton in The Man from Laramie (1955). He also appeared in Night Passage (1957), 3:10 to Yuma (1957), Ride Lonesome (1959), The Hanging Tree (1959) and The Shakiest Gun in the West (1968), among others, many uncredited. On television he had recurring work in series such as The Adventures of Kit Carson and guest appearances in Gunsmoke, The Virginian, Laramie and Tales of Wells Fargo.
Stockman was born on 12 February 1916 in New Mexico and died on 10 March 1998 in Silver City, New Mexico.
