Biography

Brad Silberling is an American film and television director. Born Bradley Mitchell Silberling on 8 September 1963 in Washington, D.C., he studied English at the University of California, Santa Barbara and film production at UCLA.

He began his career as a production assistant before directing television episodes for series including L.A. Law, Doogie Howser, M.D. and NYPD Blue (1993). His feature film credits include Casper (1995), City of Angels (1998), Moonlight Mile (2002, also writer and producer), Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events (2004) and Land of the Lost (2009). He has also directed and executive produced episodes of Reign, Jane the Virgin, Dynasty and Charmed.

Silberling married actress Amy Brenneman in 1995 after meeting her on the set of NYPD Blue.
