Biography
Brandon Mychal Smith is an American actor and singer, born on 29 May 1989 in Los Angeles, California. He began acting as a child and gained early recognition for roles in films such as Gridiron Gang (2006) as Bug Wendal and Get On Up (2014) as Little Richard, as well as television appearances including The Shield (2002) and Bones (2005).
Smith is known for recurring roles on series including Sonny with a Chance (2009) and So Random! (2011) as Nico Harris, Starstruck (2010) as Stubby, and You're the Worst (2014–2019) as Sam Dresden. He voiced Michelangelo in the animated series Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2018–2020) and its 2022 film. In 2007 he received a Family Television Award and a Young Artist Award for his performance in the television film The Ron Clark Story (2006).
