Biography
Brent Buell is an actor, playwright, producer and director. For ten years he directed theatre in New York's maximum-security prisons, staging works from John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men to original prisoner plays. His comedy Breakin' the Mummy's Code premiered inside Sing Sing Correctional Facility in 2005 and was the subject of an Esquire feature; the production inspired the 2024 film Sing Sing, in which Buell is portrayed by Paul Raci and which he co-produced.
Buell has written and directed other plays and short films, and appeared in featured roles in Grand Opening and Al Quarem. He is the author of novels including the political parody Rapturous.
