Biography
Brian Burns is an American screenwriter and producer. Born on Long Island, New York, he began his career in political journalism in Washington, D.C., working as a copy writer and segment producer for WTTG's Fox Morning News, covering Capitol Hill and the Clinton White House.
With his brother Edward Burns he created the television series That's Life (1998) and The Fighting Fitzgeralds (2001). In 2002 he wrote and directed the feature film You Stupid Man. Burns served as a writer and supervising producer on the HBO series Entourage (2004), contributing seven episodes and receiving two Primetime Emmy nominations. He later became executive producer and a writer on the CBS series Blue Bloods (2010), penning dozens of episodes. His feature credits include the screenplays for Daddy's Home (2015) and Daddy's Home 2 (2017).
