Biography
Brian H. Kim is a composer, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter based in Los Angeles. He studied music at Yale University and completed a film scoring programme at the University of Southern California.
He is known for his scores to the Disney animated series Star vs. the Forces of Evil (2015–2019), the TBS/HBO Max comedy Search Party (2016–2022), the films Hello, My Name Is Doris (2015) and G.B.F. (2014), and the Amazon series Panic (2021). Other credits include Spoiler Alert (2022), My Life with the Walter Boys (2023) and Jentry Chau vs the Underworld (2024), for which he received an Emmy nomination for the song “Flame”.
Earlier in his career Kim served as an assistant to composer John Swihart on projects including How I Met Your Mother. He has also worked as a songwriter and music director, and has recorded with artists such as Adele and Lin-Manuel Miranda.
