Biography
Brian Probyn (1920–1982) was a British cinematographer. He began his career as a camera assistant and operator, including work for the BBC, before becoming a director of photography on feature films and documentaries in the 1960s.
His credits include Poor Cow (1967), Downhill Racer (1969), Badlands (1973), The Satanic Rites of Dracula (1973) and Frankenstein and the Monster from Hell (1974). He was a member of the British Society of Cinematographers. Probyn moved to Australia in 1973, where he continued working on films and taught cinematography at the Australian Film and Television School.
