Biography
Bryan Mosley (25 August 1931 – 9 February 1999) was a British actor. Born in Leeds, he trained at the Northern Theatre School after national service in the RAF. He appeared in numerous films and television series from the early 1960s, including uncredited roles in A Kind of Loving (1962), This Sporting Life (1963) and Billy Liar (1963), as well as credited parts in Far from the Madding Crowd (1967) and Carry On Cowboy (1965).
Mosley is best known for playing grocer Alf Roberts in the ITV soap opera Coronation Street, first appearing in 1961 and becoming a regular from 1971 until 1999. He also played the gangster Cliff Brumby in the 1971 film Get Carter. In addition to acting, he worked as a fight arranger and fencer, serving as a founder member of the Society of British Fight Directors and arranging sequences including the rooftop fight in Get Carter.
