Biography
Burkhard von Dallwitz, also credited as Burkhard Dallwitz, is a German-Australian composer. Born on 28 January 1959 in Bad Homburg vor der Höhe, Germany, he moved to Australia in 1979. He studied music at La Trobe University in Melbourne, where he majored in composition with honours and continued advanced studies under Keith Humble.
Since 1984 he has composed for feature films, television and commercials in Australia, Germany and the United States. He is best known for his score to The Truman Show (1998), for which he shared the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Score with Philip Glass. Other credits include The Way Back (2010) and the Australian television series Underbelly (2008–2013). He is based in Melbourne.
