Biography
Caprysha Anderson is an American who appeared as herself in the 2011 documentary The Interrupters, directed by Steve James. The film follows violence interrupters working with CeaseFire Chicago, and Anderson is shown being mentored by Ameena Matthews as she navigates challenges including parole violations and time in juvenile detention.
Anderson earned her high school diploma in January 2011 while at the Illinois Youth Center at Warrenville. FRONTLINE produced follow-up segments in 2012 examining her progress and ongoing support from Matthews.
