Biography
Cara Silverman was an American film editor. Born in New York City, she studied political science at American University and began her career with an internship at the New York public television station WNET. She worked as an assistant or associate editor on films including The Bonfire of the Vanities (1990), Cape Fear (1991) and A Bronx Tale (1993) before her first solo editing credit on Party Girl (1995).
Silverman edited numerous feature films, often collaborating with directors such as Ken Kwapis on He's Just Not That Into You (2009) and Big Miracle (2012), and James Gunn on Super (2010) and Movie 43 (2013). Other credits include A Cinderella Story (2004), The Perfect Man (2005), Malibu's Most Wanted (2003) and There's Always Woodstock (2014). She died in Los Angeles on 22 September 2014, aged 54.
