Biography
Carlinhos Brown, born Antônio Carlos Santos de Freitas, is a Brazilian singer, percussionist, composer and actor. He was born on 23 November 1962 in Salvador, Bahia.
Brown contributed music and performed on the soundtrack of Rio (2011), including the Oscar-nominated song "Real in Rio", and provided additional voices for the film. He voiced the Audition Bird in Rio 2 (2014) and appeared as a singer in Speed 2: Cruise Control (1997). He is also credited as Duende Músico in Xuxa and the Elves (2001).
He is married to Helena Buarque de Hollanda and has received awards including a Goya Award and Latin Grammy nominations.
