Biography
Carlo Buccirosso is an Italian actor, theatre director and playwright. He was born on 7 July 1954 in Naples. He has appeared in numerous comedy films, frequently playing stereotypical lower middle-class Neapolitan characters in works directed by Vincenzo Salemme and Carlo Vanzina.
Buccirosso is known for his supporting roles in Paolo Sorrentino's Il Divo (2008) as Paolo Cirino Pomicino and The Great Beauty (2013) as Lello Cava. Other notable film credits include The Legendary Giulia and Other Miracles (2015), Mom or Dad? (2017), Love and Bullets (2017) and 5 Is the Perfect Number (2019). He has also worked extensively in television, including the series Un ciclone in famiglia (2006–2008) and Imma Tataranni: Deputy Prosecutor (2019–2025).
In 2014 he won the Nastro d'Argento for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in Song'e Napule (2013). The following year he received a further award for his work in The Legendary Giulia and Other Miracles.
