Biography
Carlo Maria Cordio is an Italian composer, arranger, conductor and musician. He was born on 24 February 1952 in Rome and trained at the Conservatorio Santa Cecilia, graduating in 1970, followed by studies in composition and conducting at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana and pipe organ at the Papal Academy.
He began working professionally in the mid-1970s as a performer on piano and keyboards for film scores and recordings, later composing and arranging for cinema. His credits include scores for numerous Italian genre films of the 1980s and 1990s such as Cannibal Ferox (1981), Absurd (1981), Pieces (1982), Ator, the Fighting Eagle (1982), Ænigma (1987) and Troll 2 (1990). He also contributed electronic music to Federico Fellini’s Prova d’orchestra (1979) and La città delle donne (1980), and has worked with composers including Ennio Morricone, Riz Ortolani and Stelvio Cipriani.
