Biography
Carlo Verdone is an Italian actor, screenwriter and film director. Born in Rome, he studied modern literature at Sapienza University of Rome and film direction at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia.
He made his directorial debut with Fun Is Beautiful (1980), in which he also starred, and followed it with Bianco, rosso e Verdone (1981) and Talcum Powder (1982). He has directed and written numerous comedies, later incorporating more serious themes in films such as My Best Enemy (2006) and Me, Them and Lara (2010). He played Romano in Paolo Sorrentino's The Great Beauty (2013).
Verdone is the brother-in-law of actor Christian de Sica.
