Biography

Carlos Barbosa is a production designer and former architect. Born in Bogotá, Colombia, he studied architecture at Universidad de Los Andes before completing a Master of Architecture at Tulane University. He worked as an architect in New Orleans and Los Angeles before moving into film and television design.

His credits include the pilot episode of the series 24 (for which he received an Emmy nomination), Coach Carter (2005), The Invisible (2007), Hurricane Season (2010), Terra Nova (2011), Magic City (2012) and Godless (2017). For the Netflix limited series Godless, he oversaw the construction of a complete Old West mining town in New Mexico.

Barbosa has also worked on series such as Lost, Aquarius and Inhumans. He remains a member of the Art Directors Guild and continues to practise architecture alongside his screen work.
