Biography

Carmine Guarino is an Italian production designer and set decorator. Born in Naples on 17 January 1981, he began his career in 2005 as an assistant scenographer on a film directed by Paolo Sorrentino and continued in that role on Sorrentino’s L’amico di famiglia (2006) and Il divo (2008).

Guarino has worked extensively with directors including Edoardo De Angelis and Mario Martone. His production design credits include Indivisible (2016), The Vice of Hope (2018), The Mayor of Rione Sanità (2019), The Immortal (2019), The Hand of God (2021), Nostalgia (2022), Last Night of Amore (2023), The Commander (2023) and Parthenope (2024). He has received a Nastro d’Argento for best production design for The Vice of Hope and multiple David di Donatello and Nastro d’Argento nominations.
