Biography
Carole Millar, also credited as Carole K. Millar or Carole K. Fraser, is a Scottish costume designer working in film and television. She holds a bachelor’s degree in textile design from Gray’s School of Art and has extensive experience in dressmaking, illustration and textile dyeing. Based in Glasgow, her early work includes panto productions at the city’s King’s Theatre.
She is known for her costume design on Ken Loach films including Sweet Sixteen (2002), Ae Fond Kiss... (2004) and The Angels’ Share (2012), as well as Red Road (2006), My Son (2021) and the 2026 series Half Man. Millar has also designed for television series such as Two Doors Down, Dinosaur and Lovesick, and served as costume designer for the opening ceremony of the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.
