Biography
Carolina Gaitán, also credited as Carolina del Pilar Gaitán Lozano or Carolina Gaitán - La Gaita, is a Colombian actress and singer. Born on 4 April 1984 in Villavicencio, she studied at the Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute in New York and began her career in 2002 after winning a talent contest that led to membership of the group Escarcha.
She has taken lead roles in television series including Celia (2015), Sin senos sí hay paraíso (2016) and Narcos (2015), and has appeared in musicals at Colombia's National Theater. Gaitán voiced Pepa Madrigal in the Disney film Encanto (2021) in both English and Spanish versions, and performed on the soundtrack including the hit 'We Don't Talk About Bruno'. She has received two Premios Tu Mundo awards.
