Biography

Carsten Kurpanek is a film editor. Born on 10 September 1976 in Würzburg, Bavaria, Germany, he moved to Los Angeles after studying film. He began as an assistant editor in reality television before working on scripted series and assisting on features including World War Z (2013) and Money Monster (2016).

Kurpanek's feature editing credits include Earth to Echo (2014), Fort Bliss (2014), Benji (2018), Escape Plan 2: Hades (2018), The Bygone (2019), Rambo: Last Blood (2019) and Jolt (2021). He edited Coyote vs. Acme (2026). He has also directed short films and serves as co-director of the American Cinema Editors Internship Program.
