Biography
Caterina Murino is an Italian actress. She was born on 15 September 1977 in Cagliari, Sardinia.
In 1996 she placed fourth in the Miss Italy contest. She later moved to Milan and worked as a model before studying acting from 1999 to 2000 at the Scuola di Cinema e Teatro run by Francesca de Sapio. She made her stage debut in a production of Richard III in 1999 and began appearing in film and television in 2002. Her breakthrough came with a role opposite Jean Reno in the 2004 French comedy The Corsican File.
Murino gained international recognition playing Solange Dimitrios in the James Bond film Casino Royale (2006). Her other credits include St Trinian's (2007), The Prey (2011), Voice from the Stone (2017) and Veneciafrenia (2022). She is trilingual, speaking Italian, French and English.
