Biography
Cathal Mercer is a Northern Irish actor. He is from Portadown and attended St Patrick’s Grammar School, Armagh. He holds a degree in Drama with Advertising and performed with the Portadown Phoenix Players between 2012 and 2017, as well as in productions at the Market Place Theatre, Armagh, and The Mac, Belfast.
Mercer’s screen credits include the role of Fra in the 2024 film Kneecap, Excited Man in Haunted Ulster Live (2023), Ghost in the short film Evidence (2023), and Mark in Love in Belfast. He secured the part in Kneecap through his agent at Shelley Lowry Talent Management.
