Biography

Catherine Dyer is an American actress. She graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City and began working in commercials, voice-overs, television, theatre and film. In 1991 she moved to Los Angeles, where she wrote and performed the one-woman show Sorry to Keep You Waiting.

Following the 1994 Northridge earthquake, Dyer worked behind the camera as a development assistant for Lifetime Television's original movies department. In 1997 she returned to New York as programming coordinator for A&E's Biography series, later becoming manager of documentary programming and supervising producer; she received a Primetime Emmy nomination in 2003. She resumed acting in 2008 with a recurring role in Army Wives and has since appeared in numerous television series and films.

Dyer is known for her role as Agent Connie Frazier in the first season of Stranger Things (2016) and for playing Mrs. Smith in The Blind Side (2009). Other film credits include Halloween II (2009), Taken 3 (2014), The Founder (2016) and Dirty Grandpa (2016). She is co-founder and owner of the Atlanta acting studio Drama Inc.
