Biography
Cathryn Humphris is an American television writer. She began her career in television as a production assistant and writer's assistant on the series Once and Again in 1999. She started writing for television on Supernatural in 2006, contributing episodes across the first four seasons, including co-writing the story for "Dream a Little Dream of Me" with Sera Gamble.
Humphris joined the writing staff of Mad Men as executive story editor and writer for its third season in 2009. She co-wrote the episodes "Love Among the Ruins" with Matthew Weiner and "The Gypsy and the Hobo" with Marti Noxon. The Mad Men writing team, including Humphris, received the Writers Guild of America Award for Best Drama Series for the third season.
Her subsequent credits include writing and producing roles on series such as Under the Dome, Elementary, Colony, NCIS: New Orleans, The Hot Zone and Tell Me Your Secrets.
