Biography
Charlbi Dean was a South African actress and model. Born Charlbi Dean Kriek on 5 February 1990 in Cape Town, she began modelling at the age of six and made her acting debut in the 2010 film Spud as Amanda, reprising the role in the 2013 sequel.
She appeared in films including Death Race: Inferno (2013), Don't Sleep (2017) and An Interview with God (2018), and had a recurring role as Syonide in the television series Black Lightning (2018). Dean played Yaya in Ruben Östlund’s Triangle of Sadness (2022).
Dean died on 29 August 2022 in New York City, aged 32.
